I was a member of Dakota Moon from 1996 through 2003. It was an incredible experience....we released two albums on Elektra - the self titled “Dakota Moon” and our second CD, "Looking For Place To Land" . We had a nice run - DM charted three hit singles, played on the Rosie O'Donnell and Vibe w/Sinbad TV shows, and opened up for some of the biggest names in the music business, including Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Macy Gray, and the Corrs. The band disbanded in 2003 (no drama, it was just time to do something else!), but all of the band members have gone on to do some cool things, both musically and otherwise. We all still write and stay creative in various projects. Please see below...
Ty Taylor (Vocals/Guitar) - Ty has been the busiest member of the band (musically) post Dakota Moon, performing in Queens "We Will Rock You" show in Las Vegas, and as a member of the cast of the reality show, Rockstar - INXS, auditioning weekly to be the lead singer for INXS. He is currently rocking the world with his rhythm and blues, 50's and 60's soul influenced, juke joint, "dance until you sweat it all out" blues band Vintage Trouble - www.vintagetrouble.com
Malloy (Vocals/Percussion) - Malloy has released several post Dakota Moon solo CD's, two of which I proudly co-wrote and produced. Please check this website (under Listen-->w/Malloy) for a sampling of the songs on the CD's "Take to the Sky" and "Black Butterfly.
Ray Artis (Bass/Vocal) - Ray has continued his creative career by doing editing and post production work for some of the most successful TV shows on the planet. Some of these shows you may have heard of, like... Joe Dean (Guitar/Vocals) - Post Dakota Moon, I've co-written and produced two of Malloy's solo CD's "Take to the Sky" and "Black Butterfly, and a 5 song EP as a member of Collective In Groove. I've also worked with many artists in the LA area, writing songs, producing tracks and creating cues for sync opportunities here at Mojo studios. More to come...
